Anxiety Coping Statements

Anxiety coping statements are positive phrases I have used to manage anxiety when I start to feel its onset.  As I used them consistently, I started to believe in the statements more and it helped reduce my anxiety.  The key is consistency because it took a while to genuinely believe in them. 

Their purpose includes:

  1. Challenging Negative Thoughts: They help shift focus from negative thoughts to positive ones.

  2. Reducing Stress: By repeating calming and reassuring statements, you can decrease your overall stress levels.

  3. Self-Soothing: They build confidence in your ability to handle anxiety-provoking situations.

  4. Encouraging Mindfulness: These statements can help you stay present and grounded, reducing the tendency to worry about the future.

  5. Relaxation: Repeating calming statements can induce a sense of calm and relaxation, helping to mitigate the physical symptoms of anxiety.

  6. Enhancing Resilience: Regular use can strengthen your resilience.

  7. Accessibility: It is easy to be used anywhere, providing a quick and portable anxiety management tool.
