  • Dr. Jennifer Goldman, MD

    Jennifer Goldman, MD is a psychiatrist who currently serves as NYS‘s Office of Mental Health (OMH) Medical Director for Crisis and Community Services. In this role, she oversees initiatives to expand and improve behavioral health crisis services throughout New York State.

    Prior to joining OMH, Dr. Goldman was the Director of Bellevue Hospital’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her medical degree from SUNY Downstate, where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed a psychiatric residency and public psychiatry fellowship at the New York University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Goldman is a Clinical Associate Professor with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, and serves as faculty for the NYC Health + Hospitals/NYU Public Psychiatry Leadership Program.

    Dr. Goldman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her position, having dedicated her career to the field of psychiatry and mental health. Her leadership in the OMH involves strategic planning, policy development, and the implementation of innovative programs designed to address the complex needs of individuals experiencing mental health crises. Through her work, Dr. Goldman plays a crucial role in shaping the future of mental health care in New York, striving to create a more responsive and effective system that prioritizes the well-being and recovery of all individuals.

  • Dr. Laura Berssenbrugge, PhyD

    Dr. Laura Berssenbrugge is a child and adolescent Licensed Clinical Psychologist and former English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. With over fifteen years of experience, she is an expert in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the evidence-based treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, OCD, PTSD, and social skills issues.

    Dr. Berssenbrugge is the Co-Founder of The Modern Asian Parent, an organization that supports Asian-identifying families with evidence-based, culturally informed parenting strategies. She is the creator of Dr. Laura B’s Release, Regulate, & Relax Aromatherapy Inhaler Set, a DBT-inspired stress management tool, and author of the workbook "Beyond the Blush: A CBT Approach to Overcoming Social Anxiety."

    Dr. Berssenbrugge holds a doctorate in Clinical-School Psychology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM)/Yeshiva University and completed her clinical training at the Child Mind Institute, NYU Child Study Center, Montefiore Medical Center, and Rutgers University.

    In addition to her clinical work, she supervises early-career psychologists and graduate students and consults with mental health-focused apps.

  • Dr. Liz Nissim, PhD

    Dr. Liz Nissim is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist. She has worked in public schools as a member of the Child Study Team as well as the Coordinator of the Child Study Team. During her tenure in private schools, she served as the team leader to provide supports to teachers and paraprofessionals, emotional support to parents, and school-based counseling for students as well as behavior management.

    Psychological & Educational Consulting started in Dr. Liz's former dining room as a solo practitioner in 2009 on a part-time basis, and in 2012 on a full-time basis. Since then, she has slowly grown the group into a 6-therapist team and ultimately left her home in pursuit of a larger space to accommodate the children, adolescents, young adults and adults with whom the team works.

    The team specializes in Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities and Behavior Management. Dr Liz and her team of therapists also provide: therapy, play therapy, parent coaching, executive functioning coaching and psycho-educational evaluations.

    Further, Dr Liz is the proud mother of 3 beautiful children, 2 of whom are teenagers and one is a budding pre-teen!

  • Stephanie Liu

    Stephanie Liu is an accomplished product designer with a distinguished career in technology and healthcare innovation. As the lead product designer at Venmo and PayPal, they played a pivotal role in shaping user experiences for millions of people worldwide. Stephanie's expertise extends into the realm of healthcare, where they contributed to the development of AI-driven solutions for cancer drug treatments at Cota, a company dedicated to next generation cancer research to transform cancer care.

    Stephanie's humanistic approach in creating intuitive, engaging digital products and their passion for improving lives through technology makes them invaluable in guiding the development of effective, impactful solutions for accessible mental health resources.

  • Kristin Schweithal, MEd

    Kristin Schweithal, MEd currently serves as a Product Marketing Manager at Amplify, an innovative EdTech company. With a robust background in education and nonprofit work, she brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

    Previously, Kristin served as the Dean of Instruction at a public charter school in Brooklyn, overseeing science, math, and history teachers and supporting science curriculum and data analysis across a network spanning New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. She played a pivotal role in enhancing educational outcomes and fostering a supportive learning environment.

    Kristin began her career with Teach For America in Miami, where she served as a middle school science teacher and later as a content specialist, guiding incoming teachers through their Teach For America journey. Her dedication to education reform and equity is evident in her work empowering educators and advocating for educational access.

    Prior to her work in education, Kristin contributed to the mission of Classy.org, a leading online fundraising platform dedicated to empowering nonprofits and connecting supporters with causes they care about. She understands the importance of leveraging technology to advance nonprofit missions and enhance supporter engagement.
